A quick update

Its been a while. We've been pretty busy lately. We went up to MI at the beginning of March for my cousins wedding. It was beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen her this happy. And I am truly happy for the both of them and wish them tons of well wishes.

While we were in MI we also had Aubree's 2nd birthday party. She had a BLAST! She loves playing with her cousins. My sister, Jenn, begged me to let her stay overnight, and I let her. I still cant believe I was able to leave her over night!! Granted, Jenn is the only one other than our parents I think we would feel comfortable with. She has 7 kids, and they are all still alive so I think that makes her qualified! lol The in-laws got her this enormous Minnie Mouse. Its seriously 5 foot tall!

Adam interviewed in Traverse City. We're still waiting to hear something. They think maybe next week. We are so ready. My dad is plotting all the extra money he is going to make with Adam doing side work. My mom and I are going to do the farmers market. Really excited about that!

After our trip to MI my parents came here for Aub's actual birthday! Busy Busy! We always take her to the zoo on her birthday, sadly this year it was cold and most of the animals weren't out. But she loved the meerkats!

Thats all for now I suppose. I'm probably going to start changing my blog around soon. When we move I want to try to keep up with the local grocery stores, and I dont know of any blogs that do. So I am going to take it on. Plus I might start doing a craft day and a recipe day. Not too sure, but I want to grow my blog. And advice or ideas are welcome!

Who needs a rooster when you have a toddler?

Aubree made yet another milestone last night. She slept in her big girl bed.

The actual bed frame wont be here until later this week, but we found a really good deal on a twin mattress set. I couldn't wait to have her sleep in her big girl bed.

With kids you are so excited to have them meet milestones, you completely forget how much life changes once they are reached. There are days I wish she was still about 2 months old, non-mobile, cuddly, and not able to talk back. But we have children to teach them and watch them grow (impatiently waiting for grandchildren to spoil rotten).

With all of my excitement I forgot that her door will now have to be cracked so when she wakes up she can come get me. Which means the cats can now go in there. Yay. Torri isn't so bad, but Zoe (the kitten) likes to try to play with you while your sleeping. Zoe woke poor sleepy Aubree up a couple of times last night. We also put a baby gate in the hallway so the only place she has access to is her room and our room. I don't really need to wake up to all the canned goods on my bed.

I also forgot that she normally wakes up around 7:00 or 7:30 am and plays in her crib until about 9:00am when she decides enough is enough and whines to wake me up. With the big girl bed, Aubree was in my room at 7:00 am on the dot saying "Mommy hold you". Adorable yes, but Mommy was still sleepy! I tried to get her to lay back down with me, but no such luck. Luckily hubby let me take a nap once he was awake.

My little Angel is growing up. And its going to take some getting used to, from all of us. Including the furr-monsters!

Its on!

My MIL called me this morning to tell me that the clubhouse where her friend lives was indeed available on March 7th! Aubree's 2nd birthday party is officially a go! Now to start getting to the details. I'm starting to remember how hard it was to plan our wedding from out of state, hopefully this isn't nearly as difficult.

Our theme is Minnie Mouse. Surprise, surprise. I have most everything picked out. Party City has a Minnie theme that I think we'll use for table cloths, plates, napkins, and cups. My mom is making a banner, invites, and cake toppers with her Cricut. Adam's cousin said she would make the cake. I'm going to make homemade gummy bears/stars for favors. And I have Aubree's outfit picked out! What else is there, theres gotta be something I'm missing.

I even have 2 of her gifts bought! So far she has a bath time Mr Potato Head and a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse patio set. There a few more things I have to pick up, and yes some of them are Minnie Mouse.

I am still having a hard time believing my baby is turning two. This time two years ago I was huge, feeling like a beached whale, just wanting her to be here. We've made it through the newborn no sleep stage, and the drooly baby stage, and the crawling and first walking toddler stages. Now we're entering the terrible twos and we're leaving toddler for preschool. Before we know it we'll be looking for her first car!
